Winter Night Shelter to open this month

Churches from across Manchester and Salford are once again working with Greater Together Manchester to accommodate rough sleepers during the winter months.

The scheme, which first launched in January 2016, has accommodated 88 rough sleepers. The shelter is run in partnership with the Booth Centre, which works during the day to find suitable move-on accommodation for the guests.

The shelter (now part of the Edward Holt Homeless Partnership) is particularly keen to ensure that more rough sleepers can access emergency accommodation like the night shelter by working together to move people into suitable move-on accommodation as quickly as possible.

Recruitment for volunteers is now open and volunteers are being sought who can support the project with overnight shifts, and evening shifts on a Friday and Saturday night.

For more information about volunteering with the Greater Manchester Winter Night Shelter call Craig Savage on 0161 828 1469, email or visit
